WisPerMed is a cross-institutional collaboration between:

• University Hospital Essen
• University of Duisburg-Essen
• Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts

The employment is initially limited to 36 months, with the aim of obtaining a doctorate. The participating researchers represent a broad range of expertise, including medical informatics, bioinformatics, computer science, artificial intelligence, and psychology. You will join a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative team.

Your workplace will be based at one of the three participating institutions, complemented by a shared WisPerMed office in Essen.

Ihre Aufgaben

• Sie führen Forschungsarbeiten im Rahmen des Projekts bzw. der Arbeitsgruppe durch.

• Sie sind für die Dokumentation und Veröffentlichung der Ergebnisse in wissenschaftlichen Fachzeitschriften verantwortlich.

• Sie arbeiten eng in interdisziplinären Arbeitsgruppen sowie mit klinischen Partnern zusammen.

• Sie beteiligen sich aktiv an den wissenschaftlichen Qualifizierungsmaßnahmen des Graduiertenkollegs WisPerMed.

• Sie erstellen eine Dissertation und reichen diese ein.

• You conduct research within the project/the working group.

• You are responsible for documenting and publishing results in scientific journals.

• You collaborate closely in interdisciplinary working groups and with clinical partners.

• You actively participate in scientific training activities of the WisPerMed research training group.

• You prepare and submit a doctoral thesis.

Ihr Profil

• Sehr guter Hochschulabschluss (Master oder Diplom) in einem einschlägigen Fachgebiet, wie z. B.:

  • Medizinische Informatik oder Bioinformatik
  • Informatik
  • Biotechnologie oder Bioingenieurwesen
  • Medizintechnik
  • Psychologie oder eine verwandte Sozialwissenschaft
  • Statistik, Epidemiologie oder eine verwandte Disziplin
  • oder eine gleichwertige Qualifikation

• Großes Interesse an interdisziplinärer und forschungsorientierter Arbeit

• Hohes Maß an Motivation, Eigeninitiative und Teamfähigkeit

• Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift

• Gute Deutschkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift

• Für ausgewählte Projekte: einschlägige Programmierkenntnisse und -erfahrung, z. B. in Python, R oder Rust; zudem können Kenntnisse in der Backend- und/oder Frontend-Entwicklung erforderlich sein

• Very good university degree (Master’s or Diploma) in a relevant field of study, such as:
