Job Mission 🚀

As a Backend Engineer, you'll play a key role in turning our trading models into robust, production-ready systems - helping Tibber trade smarter so we can pass better prices and a more reliable energy experience on to our customers. You'll work closely with our forecasting team, right where trading decisions meet real customer impact.

What you'll do ✅

Build forecasts that support Tibber's trading operations
Bridge model development and production-ready backend systems, working closely with the team building our ML models
Support both our retail trading and flex trading domains
Work hands-on with time series data
Collaborate closely with traders who act on your systems' outputs daily

What we're looking for⚡

You are driven by impact and know how to turn strategy into execution. You're used to fast-paced environments and thrive when given clear goals and high accountability. We believe you'll thrive here if you:

Have strong Python skills and experience building backend systems in ML-heavy environments (production ML, not just notebooks)
Have hands-on experience with time series data and forecasting
Know how to move ML models from development into reliable, production-ready systems
Are proactive and entrepreneurial, comfortable owning your work end-to-end in a small, high-impact team
Communicate well with both technical peers and business stakeholders
