Research Institute for Discrete Mathematics

We are looking for candidates with a research focus on combinatorial optimization or adjacent areas in algorithmic discrete mathematics, and with publications in first-class journals and conferences. Besides research and teaching in discrete mathematics, willingness to contribute to industry cooperations of the research institute is expected. German language skills are not required in the beginning. The professor will normally become a member of the Hausdorff Center for Mathematics and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

For this position we seek a promising early-career researcher who is starting to develop an own research agenda. This position is initially for three years and can be renewed after a positive intermediate evaluation for another three years. After a positive final evaluation, the university offers a (competitive) tenure track to a W3 position.
